Cicada is made by one person. If something is broken or confusing, writing to me actually reaches me — and I read everything.
Bugs, questions, feature ideas, or just telling me the tone feels off — all welcome. I aim to reply within a few days.
hello@trycicada.comThe more of this you can include, the faster I can fix it:
Please don't send screenshots containing other people's phone numbers or personal notes if you'd rather not share them — a description is usually enough.
iOS does not allow any third-party app to read your call history — that's an Apple restriction, not a limitation I can work around. Cicada can notice that a call ended and offer to log it, but it cannot see who you spoke to. You tell it, with one tap.
Same reason. No third-party iPhone app can read your messages.
No. Contacts access just saves you typing — it lets you pick people from your address book. If you decline, you can add people manually and the app works the same way.
Yes, if you're signed into the same iCloud account on both and iCloud is enabled for Cicada. Syncing goes through your own private iCloud storage. Give it a minute or two after making a change — it isn't instant.
On your device, and in your own private iCloud account. I have no servers and no access to any of it. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
You tell Cicada which city a person is based in. When you open the app somewhere that matches, it lets you know. Location is only checked while the app is open — never in the background — and you can change the distance threshold in Settings.
Yes — tap any interaction in a person's history or in the Activity tab to edit or delete it. You can also clear someone's history entirely from the ··· menu on their detail screen.
Open their detail screen and choose "Remove from Cicada" in the ··· menu. This stops tracking them but keeps the history, in case you change your mind.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your iPhone. If you use iCloud sync, you can also remove the stored copy under iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.
Genuinely welcome. Cicada is deliberately small, so not everything will get built — but knowing what people actually want shapes what comes next. Deliberate omissions so far: no social features, no sharing, and no leaderboards. Cicada is a mirror, not a network.
